Background and experience I am
a native English speaker raised and educated in New Zealand. I have a degree in English Literature and Anthropology and
have lived in or near London since 1997. For 13 years I worked for Shell Petroleum, most recently as a business analyst;
my work there included writing training material, reports and process design documents for colleagues of many nationalities.
I am a member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders
- http://www.sfep.org.uk - and have trained with them in both proofreading and copy-editing. Much of my editing experience has been gained working for academics in Germany
who are writing for publication in English. My husband is from Germany so I also have regular exposure to German influences
beyond my professional life. Together we run http://www.spicystyles.co.uk - the UK franchise of the German-based online fashion retailer - where I am responsible for copy-editing the website.  |
